DIY Thanksgiving Placeards

I set aside some time this weekend to make some placecards for Thanksgiving – I knew I’ve been saving all those wine corks for a reason! These were quick and easy.

Supplies needed:

  • Cardstock (white + fall colors)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Letter stamps + ink pad
  • Wine corks
  • Toothpicks

My Latest Obsession: Washi Tape

I’m obsessed with this stuff. I put it on everything. If you haven’t gotten yourself a roll yet, do it now. Target even has some in the dollar section sometimes! Hobby Lobby has tons of cute patterns to choose from. I’m in love!

Easy 3-Ingredient Homemade Dry Shampoo

Ingredients (light hair):
– 1/2 cup cornstarch
– 2 tsp. cinnamon
– 5 to 8 drops of scented essential oil

THAT’S IT.
I’m blonde, so this mixture works really well. If your hair is darker I would recommend adding more cinnamon and cocoa powder. This will help the dry shampoo to be darker in color so that it does not show up as drastically when you put it on your roots.

Ingredients (dark hair):
– 1/8 cup cornstarch
– 1/8 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1/8 cup cinnamon
– 3 to 5 drops of scented essential oil

I just apply it with my fingers and rub it into my roots. You can also use a big makeup brush to put it on. It can get messy though so just do a little at a time. A little pinch goes a long way! I used a little bottle of lavender essential oil that I found at Hobby Lobby in the soap making section. I love how it smells! It is super cheap to make and you can easily half the recipe to make less. It’s cute to put in little mason jars (also found at Hobby Lobby) and I’m obsessed with washi tape lately – I put it on everything. Have fun and let me know if you try it out!
